Millstone Farms Story
At Millstone Farms, we raise beef cattle and operate a small gristmill business. We have about 60 brood cow/calf pairs. Michael rotates the pastures as much as possible to protect the soil and improve the pasture quality. We sell cow shares for processing and by the pound at local markets or call-in orders. Our jalapeño cheddar brats and ribeye steaks are our family favorites.
The gristmill has been in the family since 1916. In 2023, we purchased the family gristmill from Michael's grandfather Kenny Miller. Kenny's grandfather, Michael's great-great-grandfather, started the business. Over the years, Kenny established his brand and reputation for quality products at many local festivals in Ohio and Kentucky, along with selling the gristmill products at his general store in Crittenden, KY.
Michael & Lauren
We are high school sweethearts who have been married since 2014. We both grew up in agriculture and are now raising our family just down the road from where Lauren grew up. We both hold careers outside of the farm as well and keep the gristmill business going, mainly on the weekends. We feel blessed to live the life that we do and hope to always honor God with our decisions.
